If I remember only one thing from today it will be...

... to use a variety of text choices when introducing a new topic.  Lea Ann brought up, for example, cell division.  Use the science textbook, diagrams, articles, simpler texts etc.  Have students choose their own texts and/or graphics, study and then work together to come up with the main idea.

The virtual manipulative site is a fantastic tool for giving students a chance to use manipulatives that may not be physically available at the school.  I might set up a center with specific tasks for students to try during independent work time.

I would also use the United Streaming site for developing student interest and reaching different learning styles.
